Thank you!

Another season of evaluations has come and gone!  This year the Comets saw an increase of over 40 players and added 4 teams across our association!  It’s great to see that kind of growth in female hockey in Saskatoon. The increased numbers posed some challenges which our volunteers and parents tackled with understanding and determination to make this year’s evaluations a success.

We cannot have evaluations without the several volunteers that contributed. I would like to thank my executive for the work they did again this year. There are at least as many hours spent before and after the actual evaluation sessions as there are spent at the rink. I would also like to thank the parents who volunteered to swing gates and work the clocks during scrimmage sessions, and for getting the girls to the rink and encouraging them to go out and be great. A thank you also needs to go out to all of our evaluators who spent hours carefully evaluating our athletes to give us and our coaches the best opportunity to make successful and even teams. Those who’ve stepped up to take on coaching in our association deserve our gratitude as well. Without them, the teams aren’t formed and our athletes don’t get developed. Managers and treasurers and other team officials deserve a big thank you for the behind the scenes work they do.

I’m looking forward to seeing this year’s Comets go out and be successful. Wishing you all the best in your upcoming season.

Yours in hockey,

Krispin Zaleschuk
