Skills Assessments
All ice sessions are 45 minutes long. Please arrive 25–30 minutes prior to your scheduled ice time to check in and collect your evaluation jersey.

Division information & guidelines

Ensure everything on this checklist is ready before stepping onto the ice:

[x] Full Hockey Equipment: Required for all skates, including a mandatory neck guard.
[x] Clean Helmet: Remove player names from helmets and cover or remove any team stickers.
[x] Socks: Players must wear plain socks or Comets socks.
[x] Check-In Desk: Check in at the arena lobby to receive your assigned evaluation jersey.
[x] Jersey Return: Return evaluation jerseys to the check-in desk immediately following each skate.
[x] Volunteers Needed: We welcome volunteers! Sign up at the registration table or contact the division coordinator if you can assist with gate duties.

The U18 evaluation process serves as a benchmark for players preparing for elite competition, college, or junior hockey pathways.

  • Elite Skill & Hockey Sense: Evaluators look for high-level skill execution, exceptional hockey IQ, and sound decision-making under pressure.

  • Physical Maturity & Competitive Drive: Strength, endurance, physical engagement, and relentless work ethic are key evaluation factors.

  • Leadership & Character: Evaluators assess teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, and on-ice leadership.

  • Independent Evaluators: Player assessments are conducted by off-ice, independent evaluato
