Program Overview
This initiative encourages U13-U18 hockey teams to showcase their off-ice achievements by submitting photos, videos, and summaries. The emphasis is on nurturing leadership qualities, fostering team spirit, and contributing positively to the community. The goal is to develop well-rounded individuals who grow not just as athletes, but as responsible and empathetic members of society.

- Leadership & Team Building: Encourage activities that promote leadership skills and strengthen team bonds beyond the rink.
- Community Engagement: Inspire teams to engage in community service and projects, teaching players the value of giving back.
How Teams Can Participate
- Capture Moments: Document your team's activities through photos or videos that highlight leadership and community service efforts.
- Submit Summaries: Write a brief summary of what your team has done or plans to do, emphasizing the impact on both the team and the broader community.
- Focus on Off-Ice Culture: Highlight initiatives that foster personal growth and teamwork outside of hockey performance.
Actionable Tips for Teams
- Organize Community Service Projects: Plan activities like food drives, neighborhood clean-ups, or volunteering at local shelters.
- Host Team Workshops: Arrange sessions on leadership skills, conflict resolution, mental health /performance education or other personal development topics.
- Create Team Traditions: Develop rituals or events that strengthen team identity and camaraderie.
Team of the Month Prize
- 30 Game Tickets: Each winning team will receive 30 tickets to a Saskatoon Blades game, allowing players and team members to enjoy a live hockey experience together.
- Additional Tickets at Group Rate: If the team needs more than 30 tickets, they can contact the Blades office to purchase extra tickets at a discounted group rate.
- Scheduled Game Dates: The tickets are available for specific games on these dates:
- Friday, October 17th
- Saturday, November 22nd
- Wednesday, December 17th
- Friday, January 23rd
- Friday, February 27th
- Saturday, March 21st
How to Apply
- Prepare Your Submission: Gather photos or videos and write a compelling story about your team's off-ice activities focused on leadership, team building, or community service.
- Send Your Submission: Email your complete submission to Andrew Bailey at andrewbailey@sasktel.net Make sure your email includes:
A brief summary of your team's activities.
Photos or videos that capture these moments.
- Announcement of Winners: The winning team will be announced one week before the designated Blades game, giving you time to plan and celebrate.
